Do you believe in Luck? | Art of the Week | #6

Do you believe in luck, Reader?

Yeah, me neither. Well, not in the sense that things just randomly happen. I think luck involves a lot of intention and energy on our part.

One could say I was lucky that this teaching job opened up, but I don't think that's it. The job had been open for a couple of years, and waiting for the right person. It wasn't until I actually said out loud that I was open to a teaching job that the information showed up for me the next day.

When we open up to the possibilities, when we share our desires, when we allow the Universe to help us, thats when those opportunities appear.

Some would say that was pretty lucky. But now after so many years of reading oracle cards, and learning witchcraft and paganism, I know that luck requires more intention than the word would suggest to reach your desires.

So in case you don’t see any luck this week, here are just a couple tips for opening up to source and understanding how this comes about.

  1. Figure out your desires. What is it you actually want? Some of us will get super specific and some will be more general about the feelings we want to feel.
  2. Share out loud what that is that you desire. Maybe you're just talking to yourself, but even more powerful is sharing it with a friend or family member you trust. Someone who won't analyze it, or alter it, or trying to fix it. A person who will simply listen and match our excitement.
  3. I like to then keep my desires written in my little dragon box. Maybe you have a small space you can keep yours. Just as a small reminder of what you want.
  4. Be open to the signs, and possibilities. It might be a conversation, an image you see somewhere, a billboard, etc.

I also wanted to share this quick artwork I did back in 2020, I think it really shows how connecting with others and our higher selves can align us with our desires and share that energy. I called this Starry Angelic Connection.

Want to connect to your intuition more? Let's dive into creating oracle cards. You can download the journal here. It will be a place for you to keep all of your card sketches and stories together.
